Insight into the future: Müller & Sohn welcomed the VDM Juniors at an aluminium seminar
In bright sunshine and almost 27 degrees, Müller & Sohn had the honour of hosting the first major event as part of the VDM Junior Seminar. Together with Trimet Aluminium SE, we offered the young participants the opportunity to take an in-depth look at the topic of ‘Aluminium - Characteristics & Applications’ on 21 June 2023.
The three-day seminar enabled the junior employees to get to know the facets of aluminium as a raw material and understand its importance for the industry. The first day began with an insight into aluminium recycling at our plant. Here they were given valuable insights into the processes and history of our company. Managing Director Matthias Kämper gave a short and exciting presentation about the company with its 100-year history, the aluminium traded and the recycling process. A fast-paced drone film with a flyover of the company premises and a flight through the production facilities rounded off the entertaining presentation.
At the ‘get-together’ in the cosy ambience of a large marquee, juniors and long-standing employees came together to experience an afternoon full of inspiring conversations, excellent presentations and culinary delights. Right from the start of the event, the atmosphere was characterised by pleasant excitement and curiosity. The juniors took the opportunity to exchange ideas with Müller & Sohn employees from various departments and to make new contacts with each other. They also had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the work processes at Müller & Sohn. The relaxed atmosphere made it easier for all participants to engage in dialogue and get to know each other better. This led to numerous interesting discussions and ideas, which will certainly bear further fruit after the event.
This successful event provided an inspiring and educational experience for the young talents. It is important to educate the next generation about important raw materials and to inspire them about their career paths. Such investment in the education of our youth is invaluable.
